We pride ourselves in bringing attention to our talented black artists by providing pre&post production, publishing to showcasing events.

Our goals services like-minded filmmakers and music artists to facilitate and collaborate on events that play a strong role in supporting & supplying projects and database of cultural diversity. We've created Black Film Festivals, Black Music month celebrations that takes place in Vancouver; workshop projects; Each One Teach One; Data Base Network, feature films music videos plus+ Black achievement and creative arts pursuits.

Once again we are excited to create and facilitate music, video & film of the diaspora stories. Inviting the World & Contemporary audience to explore, networking discuss & scouting our talented perspectives in the pacific North west.

We support young artists to our collective, as important projects of the past 'Each One Teach One' served to inspire young artists break stigmas and nuture next generations. Our mission is to showcase the afro diaspora through time and consideration with like minded artists and all the best that we hope to achieve in building a distinctive perspective not readily seen through a window on the world.

Our Legacy

since its inception in 1998. We have furthered the cause as an underrepresented arts community in BC we act as a production and facilitator of technologies in assisting black artists and peoples of colour with our many events covering music expression, film to theater and inter arts .

2021, film Festival

Bring together the filmmaking community in exhibiting and disseminating works of the Afro diaspora.

In its debut Nov/2021 the festival opened with 27 films from a record 2155 submissions; this task had its work cut out to say the least; from managing through a pandemic lock down to a skeleton crew and last min music tributes of recent passing Black Actor & icon proved our past experience of putting on Black Film Festivals (our 1st black film festival Montreal/1998) to new virtual platforms and the opportunity to safely engage our audience locally and around the globe.

2021, Music Festival

Black Music Month Showcase, first of its kind in Vancouver in a long time coming through a pandemic at the Beaumont Arts Studio.

The BMMV returned to Vancouver with a showcase of emerging and established artists to celebrate the music of the Afro diaspora featuring fadetoblacklab talented group of musicians and like minded artists from the lower mainland. Performers braved the heat wave with patrons of the arts hungry for live music against the backdrop of a worldwide pandemic (Covid 19).

2019, Art & Music

Off the Crawl & Soul Rebirth are unofficial alternative art & music event (coinciding apposite the official Art Crawl in Vancouver/ November)

Seeing the lack of diversity and spaces to showcase; a group artists came together to share their talents in multi disciplinary fields that presented works of art/music in various locations in Vancouver from June to November of 2019. From Mount Pleasant to Gastown, all in hopes of awareness, artistic relationships creating a support network, alliances, and building a database to grow our community of alternative voices for the arts.
