Young Black Filmmakers

Young Black filmmakers are invited to apply to take part in a national project that aims to address the issue of social integration of people from Black communities in their cities. By Toronto.com The program, called Being Black in Canada, is put on by Montreal-based Fabienne Colas Foundation and is open to Black filmmakers aged 18 to 30 in Montreal, Toronto, Halifax, Calgary, Vancouver and Ottawa. The project is supported by Netflix, the National Bank, Telefilm Canada and Canada Media Fund and more. Being Black in Canada will support 35 filmmakers who will each make a 10-minute long documentary film. They’ll be guided by industry experts and provided with professional equipment.
